Leveraging the New LinkedIn (Part 1)

In 2023 LinkedIn is planning to launch many new features. Some features are being launched globally, while others are in the Beta phase and staggered across different regions. Today, we will go through some of the features being launched.

  1. Video Introduction: You can now give a video introduction from a smartphone.

  2. Celebrations have been added, which include birthdays and work anniversaries.

  3. Groups will now have the option to be "Public". [Public] option for Groups, if turned on by Admin, allows indexing, so anyone on or off LinkedIn can view what members post and share in the group. Non-group members can interact with the public group's content using reactions but can't add comments, create new posts, or view the Group Member list.

  4. Comments are now enabled per post.

  5. Emojis can be applied to posts.

  6. A blue circle was added to Messaging with a number to let you know how many unread messages there are for each conversation.

  7. Messages are now positioned as "focused or Other" (like Outlook).

  8. Add a website hyperlink to your Profile's Top card (your introduction section) and optionally use a [Customise link]. Ensure you have Creator mode turned on to get this feature.

  9. Calendly linked to Messenger. First rolled out as an option for Talent Solutions and Sales Navigator in May 2022, it requires a Calendly account, adding the plug-in to your Chrome or Firefox browser, and then giving it permission access to [In].
